Use the natural tendencies of Tunisian crochet to slant
toward the beginning edge of each row to create this stylish cowl in an
afternoon.
Materials
Lion Brand Mandala - 150 g/5.3 oz - 590 yards/539 meters ~
Appx 50g to complete 1 scarf

Gauge: 15sts x 10r = 4”/10cm in pattern.

Insert hook under the vertical
bar of the next 2 tss, yo, pull up a loop, ch1.

vertical bars of the last stitch, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops

Insert hook through the top
loop of the closing chain between the etss2tog and the next etss2tog, yo, pull up

Pattern Notes
This stitch pattern worked alone would create a length of fabric slanting toward the beginning side of the forward pass. To create the square end of the scarf, short rows are worked over the 1st 8 rows of the scarf with the foundation row as the base.
Foundation Row: ch 34.
Working into the back bump of each ch st, yarn over and pull a loop
through leaving the loop on your hook. 34 loops on the hook.

Bind off in tss. Do not cut yarn.
Fold the scarf to bring the last stitch of the bind off edge
will meet the first stitch of the cast on edge. See photo 1.
ZigZag join the slanted ending edge to the side of the fabric as shown in Photo 1.
Finish off and weave in ends.
